7 things about Somizi’s husband Mohale Motaung

Although he is simply known as the young gentlemen who swept one of Mzansi’s most loved entertainers, Somizi Mhlongo, off his feet,  Mohale Motaung is successful in his own right. Having been given a torrid time by social media users who branded him a gold-digger and alleged that he was exploiting his proximity to the reality TV star and Idols SAjudge to catapult his own acting career, it seems Motaung is finally stepping out of his famous lover’s shadow.

Following the highly anticipated star-studded all-white themed Somizi and Mhlongo wedding yesterday, social media has been buzzing about the pairs union. iHarare has, however, done some research on the life of  Somagaga’s lover and now lifetime partner.

What you don’t know about Somizi’s Husband Mohale Motaung

Mohale Motaung was born on 9th  July 1994 in Kibler Park, Johannesburg, Gauteng. Mohale Motaung was raised by both his parents – father Sechaba Motaung and mother Lebo Motaung.

Mohale Motaung is currently the CEO of Glam Troupe and is currently enrolled at Wits University where he is studying  BCom Economics. Mohale is also the face of a clothing brand called CSquared.  Earlier last year, Mohale scored a role on popular and informative MTV series “Shuga: Down South. Mohale played the role of confident gay economics student Odirile. After the series, Mohale boasted that he had gotten the role from his own sweat,  silencing critics who claimed that he only got the role through Somizi’s help.

Although same-sex marriage is legal in South Africa, many homosexuals still face massive discrimination. iHarare has learnt through an interview conducted by Channel24 last year with the 23-year-old gentleman, that Mohale had dated women before coming out of the closet and dating TV Royalty, Somizi.

Somizi and Mohale reportedly met in September2017, and early 2018, Somizi proposed to Mohale during a romantic evening in the city of love, Paris.  After two years of dating, Mohale Motaung married  TV star Somizi Mhlongo in a traditional wedding in 2019.

Late last year Mohale came under heavy criticism on social media after rumours surfaced that he was not in love with the TV star. The allegations were hurled at him after he appeared on Somizi’s reality show, Living the dream with Somizi (LTDWS). Some social media claimed that they observed from the television show that Mohale lacked affection towards Somizi. However, after watching from the sidelines, Somizi cheekily silenced social media trolls in a lengthy social media comment addressed to one of Mohale’s critics.
