Mase took to Instagram to call out Diddy, claiming that the Bad Boy CEO has a history of starving his artists, and he revealed that Diddy only paid him $20,000 for his publishing. Mase's message was in response to Diddy's recent critique of the Grammys not respecting Black music.

He started out by writing, "@diddy I heard your #Grammy speech about how u are now for the artist and about how the artist must take back control. So I will be the first to take that initiative. Also, before we ask of other ethnicities to do us right we should do us as black people better. Especially the creators."

Mase went on to say, "Your past business practices knowingly has continued purposely starved your artist and been extremely unfair to the very same artist that helped u obtain that Icon Award on the iconic Badboy label. For example, u still got my publishing from 24 years ago in which u gave me $20k. Which makes me never want to work w/ u as any artist wouldn’t after u know someone is robbing you & tarnishing your name when u don’t want to comply w/ his horrendous business model."

Mase ended his message by revealing that he tried to buy back his publishing for $2 million cash this week, and Diddy told him that he would have to match what a European guy offered him. Diddy then told Mase that the publishing from the songs he made when he was 19 will revert back to him when Mase is 50, per his contract. In the post, Mase included a tweet from Meek Mill, who spoke about labels getting "young black kids in slave contracts." You can read the full post above.
