REPORT: Doctor Strange 2 Has Other-Dimensional Takes on Existing MCU Heroes

However, a new report suggests these alternate realities will include different versions of several Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.
According to MCU Cosmic, there weren't any specifics on which alternate versions of MCU characters would appear, though the information reportedly comes from a "reliable source." This has caused some to speculate that characters currently deceased in the MCU could show up in Multiverse of Madness as alternate universe versions of their established selves.

Several rumors have recently surfaced regarding the film, including Chiwetel Ejiofor's return as Mordo and the introduction of Clea and Brother Voodoo.
The film will also reportedly tie into the upcoming Disney + shows WandaVision and Loki. In fact, Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff will even appear in Multiverse of Madness, but there is no official word on if Tom Hiddleston's Loki will follow suit.
Scott Derrickson, director of the first Doctor Strange, was set to helm the sequel, though he has since dropped out due to creative differences.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen. The film hits theaters May 7, 2021.
