Blogger's teenage daughter is praised for buying 'no photos' hoodies for herself and her sister, 9, after their 'Instagram famous' mother refused to stop posting images of them online

The daughter of an 'Instagram famous' blogger has revealed how she bought 'no photos' hoodies for herself and her sister so her mother would stop posting pictures of them online.

Taking to Reddit, the anonymous teen explained that her mother runs a somewhat 'famous' blog, on which she has featured with her sister since they were young. 

But the frustrated teenager, believed to be from the US, said she now worries there's 'so much out there' about them, which could appear online when 'anyone looks up' their names in the future.

'It's what's gonna come up when I'm looking for a job, when I'm dating, when anyone looks up my name,' she said. 

In an attempt to reduce future appearances on her mother's blog, the teenager decided to order a few custom hoodies with phrases on them including 'no photos', 'no videos', 'respect my privacy' and 'no profiting off my image'.

Although her mother is 'mad' about it, she received an outpouring of support from commenters who said she has every right to fight back against being 'exploited'.  

She said she hoped the hoodies would mean her mother can't take photographs of the pair 'without them having a pretty strong message that we don't want to be in pictures.' 

'It sounds silly but it looks pretty sick actually,' she said. 'I got one for me and one for my nine-year-old sister who's started to not always want photos.'

She added: 'I guess the idea is that my mom can't take good looking pictures, even candid ones, with us in the hoodies without them having a pretty strong message that we don't want to be in pictures.' 

The teenager confessed her mother was 'mad' when she first saw the hoodies, and told her that she won't post any photographs without asking first. 

But the anonymous teen went on to claim that her mother always then 'negotiates' her into letting her post the pictures by arguing that it's how she makes her income. 

If her daughter then asks for money to buy something, she tells her that she needs to stop arguing about the photos. 

Her mother also claims the photos are a 'nice way to remember her young years by', and won't post anything without asking. 

'But I know that's a whole mess anyway; she always says that and posts without asking and then says "I thought it would be OK because you're face wasn't visible / you're just in the background, etc".

'And I'm always like "No you didn't THINK. If you thought at all you'd remember what I said I want. No new pictures of me or mentions of me online. Remove all pictures that include me that you've ever posted and delete any writing that mentions me". 

'I am just so fed up, and upset that my mom is mad at me for wearing my new hoodie every day. She's mad I won't take it off for any event and thinks it's inappropriate to wear to certain things.

'I know it's really weird looking but it feels like my only option.'

The frustrated teenager went on to explain she has told her mother 'over and over again, no more photos ever, no more writing about me ever' but she doesn't feel her 'boundaries are ever going to be followed'. 

Thousands of social media users took to the comments of the post to praise the teen for her quick-thinking solution to the difficult situation.

One user said: 'Your mom has exploited you all your life, for money. That's s*** enough, but then to try and guilt-trip / manipulate you into continuing to participate even though you've told her explicitly you don't want to be a part of it anymore? 

'That is beyond the pale. It's not like being an influencer is the only job on earth'. 

Another said: 'FINALLY Y'ALL ARE OLD ENOUGH TO COMPLAIN. 

'We have been worried about kids in your position for years but they were all too young to stand up for themselves.'

Others told the teenager she had 'every right' to ask her mother to take down all the pictures of her on the blog - and even offered to buy her another hoodie.

'She's using you and your sister as part of her "brand" without your consent', a user said. 'You have every right to ask her to take down all pictures of you'.

Another added: 'While I'm sure it was some cute way of your mom getting through your younger years, her blog directly affects your life now too.

'You are allowed to have a voice, and her ignoring yours pushed you to this.'
