Daring John Port School pupil loses his locks - but charity gains £1,100
Charlie Craxton says he's pleased with the amount he's raised
by Julie BayleyA-level student Charlie Craxton has Braved the Shave in the name of charity.
The 18-year-old, who is in the sixth form at Etwall's John Port School, just decided he wanted to help a good cause.
Today he lost his shoulder-length locks in front of hundreds of his school mates - but managed to raise an impressive £1,100 for Macmillan.
Charlie, from Mickleover, said: "I saw the opportunity to raise some money for people with cancer. I am really happy with the amount I have raised for the charity and hope it will make a difference."
His girlfriend Anna Bowley and his sister Olivia Craxton carried out the shave in front of 400 fellow pupils.
One of Charlie's teachers, Dr J, wrote on the fund-raising page: "Tomorrow's lesson is going to be interesting!! Well done for doing such a fab thing. From your least favourite teacher."
