Kamil Grosicki: Inside track on West Brom's new signing

West Brom have signed Kamil Grosicki this Deadline Day - get to know the new man at The Hawthorns here.

We spoke with Rick Skelton, blogger at Hull City Live, to get a proper look at the Polish forward.

How would you best describe Grosicki as a player?

Kamil is a "proper" winger.

He's old school, likes running at defenders or into space and is always looking to get a cross or a shot in.

What are his strengths and weaknesses?

Strengths - He's quick and direct, he counter attacks quickly and at will, he racks up assists, he can put a great cross in, he has a terrific shot on him and scores directly from free-kicks.

Weaknesses - He's no interest in defending, his stamina is questionable, he's one-footed and makes poor decisions around the box at times. He's inconsistent, like our team as a whole.

Why do you think Hull have agreed to let him go?

He's been on the verge of leaving seemingly since he arrived.

Every window has seen him linked with someone but the firm offers never came and the club has had to swallow his massive wage.

With the play-offs looking unlikely now and his contact being up in the summer, I think it's the right time to recoup something on him.

Are you surprised he's gone for such a low fee?

He's not young and can walk for free in free months because there is absolutely no chance of them taking up his one year extension at 27k a week.

I think it's about fair.

Do you think he'll fit in at Albion?

Yes, he'll be an asset to any team in the division.

WBA have good players who'll get him a lot of the ball and good targets in the middle.

He should have fun in a team that creates a lot of opportunities.

What's his injury history like, is he someone who is often on the treatment table?

He's generally been fit to play.

He plays for Poland a lot so has come back late from major tournaments and had breaks after international duty but is rarely injured.

Do you think he could be the man to help fire Albion to the Premier League this season?

They should go up anyway with the quality in the side but he'll definitely spark them into life after a sticky patch.

I'm not sure he's a Premier League player at this point but you worry about that once you are there!
