Cat's obsession with bananas results in some really questionable pictures

A cat named Bean has become an internet sensation over his unshakable obsession with bananas.

After getting a taste of the fruit as a kitten, Bean has grown to love the treat, which he's restricted to snacking on to just a couple of times a month.

But what people love more than his desire for bananas is the fact that his face make absolutely no secret of his somewhat forbidden passion.

Bean's owner began taking photos of her catto when he was treated to a banana, which has lead to him gaining an army of fans on his very own Facebook and Instagram pages.

Posting a collage of photos of Bean enjoying a banana while relaxing in his banana-themed PJs, his owner wrote: "Guys... my cat. I adore him. He's my world.

"He has an OBSESSION with bananas. And it ALWAYS LOOKS INAPPROPRIATE AND IT KILLS ME.

"Oh sweet innocent Bean. Thank you for the laughs. My sweet banana boy, aka 'Beanana'."

The post has accumulated 48,000 shares and 43,000 comments from fans, with the photoshoot proving fatal for some.

One replied: "I am dead. I love you Bean. You are the best. I would totally frame this series and hang it on my wall. PS love the onesie!"

A second said: "This made me and my husband die."

Another wrote: "It's my birthday and this is the best present I could have ever wanted."

Bean's owner told Bored Panda: "He just kinda wanted a sniff of a banana when he was about 9 months old or so and ended up really liking them. He never gets much of one and it’s maybe a couple of times a month or even less.

"His vet knows about it because we’ve seen her several times this last year or so for his bouts of uveitis that he’s had a small problem with but he’s doing great and it is unrelated. She got quite a kick out of his photos.

"Banana would be unhealthy for a cat if consumed regularly though. So it’s definitely not a diet staple for him."

When he's not being treated to a tasty nana, the rescue cat's usual diet consists of wet food twice a day, but he's also a big salad fan who enjoys Brussels sprouts leaves and lettuce.

Bean was abandoned as a newborn and his owner spotted a post about an adorable white kitten that needed a home.

He was picked up within a few minutes and found his forever home where he lives with three other cats; Pirate, Ninja and Raptor.

Never change Bean, you adorable little weirdo.
