Rita Ora confesses she is 'vulnerable' and 'emotional' in LOVE magazine interview

by

Rita Ora has given a rare glimpse into her "emotional" personal life beyond boozy parties, bad boys and tough girl pop persona.

Throwing off her pop star shackles in a jaw-dropping desert photoshoot, Rota confessed she is not the 'thick-skinned workaholic' beamed across the globe.

In a deeply personal chat with GQ Chief Content Officer Jonathan Heaf for LOVE, Rita told all about her current state of mind and career choices.

The interview was accompanied by an eye-catching shoot which was styled by Oliver Volquardsen, LOVE's newly appointed Fashion Director.

Rita confesses: "I've done so much partying, and I just felt the time was right to do something different for my birthday. So I thought, let's go into the desert, let's go for a hike, let's breathe in some fresh air for a change."

It seems that the RIP star is keen to present a whole new side of herself to fans and the general public.

"People see the workaholic, headstrong, thick-skinned twentysomething," reveals Rita, "but there's another side to me, one that is vulnerable, sensitive and pretty emotional.

"My music is what it is, and does what it does – thankfully – and I've never really had to show that side of myself professionally; in fact I have purposely hidden it. But maybe I'm ready. Is this what growing up feels like?'"

The Masked Singer judge also evaluates her position in the music industry and how much the context of her work has changed as the years have gone on.

"When I started, there was no Instagram; I think Twitter had just started," she explains. "It was all about radio play and actual physical album sales instead of streams. Nowadays, it's streams and views that really do the talking.

"And this is empowering those who can find a more organic audience. It has allowed for more self-expression on behalf of the artist and the audience, especially for women in the business."
