Girl, 2, seriously hurt as two men rushed to hospital after horror smash near Stranraer

A TWO-year old girl was among three hurt after a serious smash near Stranraer.

Four cars were involved in the crash on the B7077 at Stoneykirk at around 7.40am yesterday.

Mercy crews raced to the scene and the tot was rushed to Galloway Community Hospital with serious injuries.

Her injuries are not life-threatening.

A 64-year old man was taken to hospital with a serious injury and a 23-year-old man was taken to hospital as a precaution.

A Grey Ford Focus, a Blue Mini One, an Orange Ford Ranger and a Black Land Rover Defender were involved.

The road was closed for around five hours as officers stayed on the scene to investigate.

It reopened at around 1am.

Cops are still probing the incident and are appealing for information.

Road Policing Sergeant Wayne Carnochan said: "Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and it's important we establish exactly what happened here.

"I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash but has not yet spoken to police to come forward. I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation to get in touch."

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0461 of 30 January.
