The Robins are keen on a midfielder today

Bristol City are in talks to sign Markus Henriksen.

Hull Live report that the Robins are in talks with the Hull City midfielder over a loan move until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has not featured for Hull this season after a proposed move away from the club fell through in the summer.

City are looking to bolster their midfield after selling Josh Brownhill to Burnley, and have already shown interest in Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea and Luton Town's Pelly Ruddock.

Norwegian international Henriksen began his career at Rosenborg before moving to AZ Alkmaar and subsequently moving on loan to Hull in 2016 before turning the move permanent.

Henriksen rejected an offer of a new contract in September and is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning Hull are keen to shift him off the wage bill.

A loan move would allow the Robins to add depth for their midfield cheaply.

Hull boss Grant McCann said yesterday that the midfielder could well move on deadline day.

He said: "There's two or three clubs really interested in Markus.

"There's one or two that would like to take him so it's just whether or not there's time."
