Stellies Star Attracts Late Interest?

It’s transfer deadline day in South Africa as clubs look to tie up their last bits of business before it slams shut, and there could still be a bit of movement in the Western Cape…

According to Siya sources, Stellenbosch – who recently completed their latest signing of Nathan Sinkala – could still see some movement before the deadline rolls around at midnight, with some players, such as Nkanyiso Zungu, having fallen out of favour.

Zungu, who had been a key performer for the side in the first half of the season, hasn’t even made the bench in the last three games, while goalkeeper, Boy de Jong, as well as Leletu Skelem have also seen themselves fall down the pecking order.

Steve Barker’s side have been busy this window with the likes of Sinkala, Ovidy Karuru, Ally Msengi and, probably most notably, Granwald Scott, coming in to bolster their ranks as they seek to make sure they remain in the Absa Premiership.

With three wins in a row, Stellies have moved up to eighth place in the table in the first month of 2020, but players like Zungu may be looking to move on to bigger things given his lack of game-time of late.

That being said, with less than 12 hours left until the window closes at midnight tonight, it remains to be seen whether anything more will be done for the top-flight newbies.
