Elon Musk has released his first electronic dance music track 'Don't Doubt Ur Vibe' — but is scorned by followers on Twitter who urged him to 'stick to rockets'.

The SpaceX and Tesla CEO has also changed his Twitter name to 'E "D" M' in acknowledgement of the song, which can be listened to on SoundCloud.

The track — which features vocals written performed by Mr Musk himself — has already been played online more than 363,000 times.

Mr Musk, 48, released the track on the internet under the flag 'Emo G Records'.

'Just wrote a song called "Don't doubt yer vibe",' the entrepreneur wrote on Twitter.

'I wrote the lyrics and performed the vocals!!' he added.

These lyrics — performed by Mr Musk in a stylistically disjointed manner — amount to three repeated lines and a rhyme between the words 'true' and 'you'.

'Be … cause … it’s … true', 'Be … cause … it’s … you,' Mr Musk tweeted, repeating part of the song.

'Maybe stick to rockets,' Twitter user @BnOrdhaug responded.

'Don't Doubt Ur Vibe' is not Mr Musk's first offering in the realm of music.

In the March of 2019, the billionaire released 'RIP Harambe', a rap track in honour of the Cincinnati Zoo gorilla killed in 2016 after a child climbed into his pen.

The lyrics for that song were recorded by LA-based artist Yung Jake.
