Nadine Coyle is not in The Masked Singer - but Nicola Roberts might be

by

Girls Aloud pop icon Nadine Coyle has ruled herself out The Masked Singer after speculation that she could be Queen Bee.

Appearing on This Morning today, the Insatiable star was grilled by presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford over whether the suspicions of judges Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall are correct and it is really her under that mask.

The 34-year-old has just finished a stint on I’m A Celebrity...surely she’s had enough of reality TV for now right?

‘There is rumour,’ Ruth asked. ‘Is it you in The Masked Singer?’ Sadly Nadine’s answer seemed pretty definitive, soz.

The Call the Shots hitmaker revealed: ‘It’s not me in The Masked Singer, it’s not. [My daughter and I] were watching it on the TV.

‘I think it was Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall were like “Nadine Coyle!” And [daughter] Anaiya was like “you?! What?!”‘

The singer continued: ‘I’m there in my pajamas watching the TV like “this is so weird.”‘

Ruth then did make the point that even if it was Nadine under the Queen Bee’s mask…she wouldn’t be able to tell anyone anyway.

‘That’s very true, I would not,’ she answered. ‘But it’s not me.’

We’ll just take your word for it, hun.

There’s no word yet on just who is calling the shots as the Queen Bee…but we (and pretty much everyone else, tbh) are convinced that its Nadine’s Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts.

We think they were asking the wrong member of Girls Aloud (Picture: Getty)

Some sneaky clues dropped last weekend in the contestant’s VT mention that she ‘dances to the beat of her own drum,’ and whose debut solo single was called Beat Of My Drum? We wonder…

Aside from that, its become pretty clear from the Bee’s remarks that she won a reality TV contest, which indeed Nicola did as a member of Girls Aloud.

The five-piece won the inaugural series of Popstars: The Rivals in 2001 and clinching the Christmas number one with Sound of the Underground in the process.

So sorry Eamonn and Ruth, but it looks like you were grilling the wrong bandmate…

This Morning airs weekdays from 10sm on ITV
