Hundreds expected at memorial tonight on bridge where Isaac Ahmed died
There will also be a fireworks display in his honour
by Beth PriddingMore than 100 mourners are tonight expected to honour a well-known Burton man who died after falling from a bridge over the A38.
The 28-year-old fell from the Hillfield Lane Bridge, near Clay Mills, at around 7am on Tuesday, January 21, and collided with a BMW. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Around 700 people paid their respects at his funeral at Jamia Masjid Hanfia Ghausia mosque, in Princess Street, last week.
Now Mr Ahmed's friends are set to hold a memorial on the bridge where he died, organised by pals Devon Chanade and Montel Richards.
They say anyone who knew him is welcome to share their memories and say goodbye to him.
There will also be a fireworks display on nearby Hillfield Green.
Mourners are invited meet at the bridge from 6pm tonight, January 31.
Police will be present to keep friends and family safe.
Mr Ahmed was described as a "lovable rogue" by his family, who thanked members of the public for their support following his death.
They said in a statement: "Thank you all for the love and support shown for Isaac; it has been amazing.
"Isaac was a lovable rogue who was known by everyone in Burton.
"Remember him for his infectious smile and for the wonderful times we all shared. We will not forget him.
"At moments like this in life, it shows how close a community can be and the amount of people Isaac interacted with in his short life. May he rest in peace."
