Lalonde gets district nod

Alan Lalonde will begin a new post with the Central Okanagan School District in March.
Lalonde, the district principal for learning support services, has been appointed assistant superintendent. He replaces Vianne Kintzinger, who is retiring next month.
Lalonde has worked in the Central Okanagan school system for the past 25 years. He has held principal positions at Rutland Senior Secondary, George Pringle, Westbank elementary and Central School programs.
“Mr. Lalonde is a well-respected and important member of the leadership team in the district," said Supt. Kevin Kaardal. "His experience working with the community and teams focused on supporting vulnerable learners in the district will serve him very well in the role of assistant superintendent."
Lalonde said he is excited with the new position, and looks forward to working collaboratively with the community and partners to improve the life chances of each student.
He will assume the post March 1.
