Taapsee Pannu’s ‘Thappad’ poster copied from Mexican film poster ‘After Lucia’?
by TIMESOFINDIA.COMJust a day after Twitterati pointed out the similarity between the posters of Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship’ and director Lijo Jose Pellissery's ‘Jallikattu’, the team behind Taapsee Pannu’s ‘Thappad’ has now been accused of plagiarism.
A social media user has pointed out that Taapsee’s poster shares a striking similarity with the 2012 Mexican film ‘After Lucia’. Both posters feature a close-up shot of the lead actress captured in motion, presumably after being slapped.
“Befitting response to After Lucia Poster by Tapsee Didi #ThappadTrailer,” read the tweet.
Taapsee unveiled the poster on Thursday and dropped the film’s official trailer early Friday afternoon. The Anubhav Sinha directorial has been earning praise from fans and critics alike. Netizens have even lauded the trailer with some saying that it is a "tight slap" on ‘Kabir Singh’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's face.
After the slap scene in his blockbuster film ‘Kabir Singh’ became the talk of the town, Vanga had said in a statement, "When you are deeply in love and deeply connected with a woman, and vice versa, there's a lot of honesty in it. If you don't have that physical demonstration... you don't have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don't see anything there."

His comments didn't go down well with a lot of people and the new ‘Thappad’ trailer seems to have opened up the floodgates for discussion all over again.
The trailer captures the journey of a woman, role essayed by Taapsee who fights for justice after a domestic violence attack by her husband.
