Love Island is going green as they remove single-use coffee cups

by

Love Island has announced that it’s going green in an effort to save the planet – with the villa now being fitted with single-use coffee cups.

Broadcaster ITV2 have teamed up with brand ECoffee to make the show more environmentally conscious than ever before.

These new Re-To-Go coffee cups will hopefully help the Islanders reduce their carbon footprint through the reduction in waste.

They’ve got to offset those flights to South Africa somehow!

Apparently, the new cups will be made from natural materials and will be able to be used for both hot and cold drinks, whether the Islanders a sipping the tea or just staying hydrated.

Ecoffee Cup Founder and Brand Director, David McLagan said of the new partnership: ‘Since we started in 2014, we have been at the forefront of the re-use movement.

‘It’s great that a programme such as Love Island, with its massive following, is coming on-board to help spread the message.’

Honestly, every little helps in saving the world, right?

We can’t wait to see the islanders swerve a collaboration with Pretty Little Thing et. al to become the next Great Thunberg, tbh.

But before they save the planet – they’ve got to save themselves. We’re all still reeling from the last dramatic re-coupling..where former favourite Leanne Amaning became the third girl to leave the villa following her split with Mike Boateng.

It looks like all is not well in the villa, however – a rift seems to have opened up between former besties Shaughna Phillips and Sophie Piper – with the girls seemingly disagreeing over the ‘unfair’ re-coupling with Nas Majeed with new islander Demi Jones.

Luckily for Nas and Demi, though, it looks like they’ll be getting a lot closer tonight…

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2
