Bad weather leaves 602 towns and villages in Ukraine without power

Some 602 towns and villages in Ukraine reported power cuts after the power line safety system had been activated amid the bad weather (precipitation and strong winds).

In particular, the electricity supply was disrupted in 440 towns and villages in Sumy region and 162 in Chernihiv region, the State Emergency Service's press service has said.

Regional energy distribution companies have deployed their repair teams to eliminate the aftermath of the blackouts.

Traffic on the roads is being provided.

Weather conditions in Ukraine's western regions are expected to deteriorate on January 31, a storm warning has been issued.
