Final Fantasy VII Remake has a brilliant new trailer, crossdressing Cloud revealed
by TuffcubIf there’s one part of Final Fantasy VII that hasn’t aged well it’s the cross dressing mission in which Cloud, Tifa, and Aeris have to sneak in to the mansion of well known womaniser Don Corneo. Don likes the ladies so much he only allows females in to his home so Cloud has to drag up and then he and the other two characters line up to be judged by Corneo so he can ‘take his pick’.
There’s also a scene where lady-Cloud is relentless pursued by some rather rapey men who say things like “We’ll treat you real nice,” and “You want me to keep you company?”, and when Cloud reveals he is a man they threaten to beat him up.
Yup, not cool. Obviously but the world has moved on since then so there was some doubt the remake would even include the scene. However, Square Enix confirmed the mission would remain in the remake but with a more “modern” approach and that’s exactly what they have done. The result can be seen in this new trailer for the game which features the game’s new theme song ‘Hollow’
I’m sure that’s going to get a lot far right people angry but I think they’ve handled that brilliantly, well played Square Enix. The trailer also gets us a first look at Red XIII, chocobos, and new gameplay.
Earlier this month Square Enix announced that it was delaying Final Fantasy VII Remake until April 10th, pushing the release back from the original date of March 3rd. In a statement released today Yoshinori Kitase, producer of Final Fantasy VII Remake said:
“We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on. In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020.
We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience. I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer.
Thank you for your patience and continued support”
