Gamboa to Cagayan Valley cops: Get more HVTs

by

PHILIPPINE National Police chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, yesterday called on the Cagayan Valley police force to focus their effort in getting more ‘high-value drug targets’ or the so-called ‘big fishes’ in the illegal drugs industry in order to make a major contribution in the PNP’s stepped-up war on drugs.

The PNP chief said that one of the paradigm shifts of his leadership on the intensified campaign against illegal drugs is to improve the quality of operations where policemen focused more on HVT and higher grams of drugs confiscated per operations.

“Once we improve our anti-illegal drugs operations, there is an implication on the preparation, time, quality of work and the high degree of punishment. When a drug is confiscated and it’s more than 50 grams, the drug personality will suffer different penalty because the degree is much higher,” Gen. Gamboa told officers and men of the Police Regional Office 2 headed by Brigadier General Angelito A. Casimiro during a visit in Tuguegarao City in Cagayan.

The top cop likewise emphasized that the average gram of shabu seized by the police per operations since November 2019 has dropped compared to the record in December.
