India vs New Zealand 4th T20I Highlights: India now have a 4-0 lead in the five-match series.
IND vs NZ 4th T20I, India vs New Zealand Highlights: The match headed into super over as four wickets fell in the final over of the innings. Colin Munro and Tim Seifert managed to get 13 runs in the Super Over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah. Chasing 14 in Super Over, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli walked out to bat. Rahul hit a six and a four off the first two balls. Rahul got out off the third delivery but Kohli finished the job with ease as India took 4-0 lead in the series.
Earlier, chasing a target of 166, New Zealand did not get off to a good start losing Martin Guptill’s wicket in the powerplay overs. Colin Munro led the run chase with Tim Seifert. Munro reached his half-century from 38 balls. Munro’s innings came to an end as Virat Kohli pulled off a relay run out. In the next over, Yuzvendra Chahal sent Tom Bruce for a three-ball duck. Tim Seifert and Ross Taylor got the run chase back on track but faltered in the death overs. Shardul Thakur was trusted with the job to defend 7 runs in the final over. Four wickets fell in the final over as India, New Zealand played their second Super Over in a row.
Sanju Samson failed to make a mark again as he departed after scoring just 8 runs. Virat Kohli departed for 11 as Mitchell Santner took a stunner inside the 30-yard circle. Shreyas Iyer looked out of touch and lost his wicket to Ish Sodhi after scoring just one run. KL Rahul contributed with a 39-run knock before losing his wicket to Sodhi. India suffered a middle-order collapse as Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar failed to rebuild the innings. The 43-run partnership for the seventh wicket between Manish Pandey and Shardul Thakur helped India get some momentum. Thakur departed for 20 but Pandey carried on. The middle-order batsman scored 50 runs from 36 deliveries and helped India post 165/8.
Earlier New Zealand’s interim skipper Tim Southee won the toss and elected to bowl first. Kane Williamson did not take any part in the T20I as he is nursing an ACL injury. Rohit Sharma, the hero of the previous T20I was rested alongside Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja. Tom Bruce replaced an injured Williamson in the side. Daryl Mitchell was included in the side as well replacing an out-of-form Colin de Grandhomme.
