Final Fantasy VII Remake Trailer Introduces New Theme Song
by Sam StoneTo commemorate the 23rd anniversary of Final Fantasy VII's original release for the PlayStation in 1997, Square Enix has released an expansive new trailer for its upcoming enhanced remake of the video game, complete with a new theme song.
Written by the video game franchise's composer Nobuo Uematsu and sung by Yosh of the Japanese rock band Survive Said the Prophet, the new song, "Hollow," is set to brand new footage featuring Cloud venturing to sci-fi city of Midgar.
Originally slated for a March release, Square Enix announced Final Fantasy VII Remake had been delayed a full month to give the development team additional time to ensure the game reaches the level of quality it deserves.
Final Fantasy VII follows Cloud, Tifa and Barrett as mercenaries that face off against the evil Sephiroth for the fate of Gaia. Upon its release, the original RPG was universally acclaimed for its gameplay and story, heralded as one of the best games on the original PlayStation and in the entire Final Fantasy franchise.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is developed and published by Square Enix. The game arrives on April 10 for PlayStation 4.
