The 100 Prequel Spinoff Gets a Rather Baffling Title
by Sam StoneAs the popular post-apocalyptic series The 100 prepares to return for its seventh and final season on The CW, additional details about its planned prequel spinoff series have been revealed.
The planned prequel is reportedly titled Anaconda, an interesting moniker as exactly zero snakes have appeared in the main series' first six seasons. The name could possibly refer to a military operation following the nuclear Armageddon that eradicated the majority of humanity and left most of Earth completely inhabitable.
This past October, the network officially greenlit a backdoor pilot to the planned prequel. It is set to air as part of The 100's seventh season, likely in the form of a flashback, as the main series draws to a close.

The prequel is set 97 years before the start of the original series, opening in the immediate aftermath of the devastating nuclear apocalypse that consumed Earth. The spinoff follows a band of survivors navigating the harsh, ravaged world as they struggle to adapt among the ashes of human civilization.
The 100 airs on The CW and stars Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Marie Avgeropoulos, Bob Morley, Henry Ian Cusick, Lindsey Morgan, Richard Harmon and Tasya Teles. The series will return for its seventh and final season sometime this year.
