Groomzilla is branded 'controlling' after telling his fiancée to ditch her TWIN as maid of honour because he's 'worried' wedding guests will mistake her for the bride

A groom-to-be has ordered his fiancée to ban her twin sister from the bridal party as he's concerned wedding guests will confuse her for the bride.

Taking to Reddit, the anonymous man, 29, from the UK, told how he was due to get married in eight weeks, but was close to calling off the big day after a change in circumstance meant his 28-year-old fiancée wanted her twin to be maid-of-honour.

He continued: 'Now, in what I consider to be a horrific decision, she has chosen long white dresses for the bridesmaids including her sister.'

However, many took to the comments section and slammed the groom-to-be as 'controlling' - and advised the wife-to-be to reconsider marrying him.

'If I were the bride, I would be thinking at length about whether to continue with him,' commented one, while a second penned: 'I hope she reconsiders this marriage omg. OP sounds like a petty controlling douche.'

A third added: 'Imagine wanting your bride to kick out her twin sister - the person she's closest to, spent her whole life with, and grown up next to - and replace her MOH with someone she barely knows, just because you don't want them to look similar.

The man in question went on to explain how he's 'worried' that because his wife and her twin are identical, their 400 guests will 'be confused all day who the bride is.'

He continued that his wife-to-be wasn't bothered and that she refused to change the bridesmaid dresses. And to add further salt in the wound, he asked her to consider having his sister in the bridal party instead.

'I'm just not comfortable with the entire thing,' he explained. 'The bridesmaids being in white makes me feel like it's some crazy multi-wife wedding and I'm marrying them all, including her twin! I put my foot down and refused to do it all her way.'

But many social media users slammed the man for being 'controlling' and branded him a 'groomzilla.'

'Yeah to be honest all I hear is “I want my sister in the bridal party so kick yours out” like what who does he think he is?' wrote one, while a second penned: 'I am a twin, and my first marriage was to a twin. It may seem hard to believe, but no one tore their hair out in confusion, or drove off with the wrong sibling.'

'The church didn't burn to the ground and the sun set in the west just like it always does.'

A third added: 'Seriously. This is the first time I've ever seen a groom-zilla. Dude, it's her twin. Her TWIN. And you want her to replace her as MOH with sister? GTFO with that nonsense. YTA.'
