Dancing On Ice’s Kevin Kilbane and Brianne Delcourt admit love at first sight
by Kim NovakDancing On Ice’s Brianne Delcourt and footballer Kevin Kilbane announced they were a couple both on and off the ice earlier in January, and they’ve revealed it was love at first sight when they met.
Speaking on Lorraine, the newfound couple opened up about having the hots for each other from the moment they met.
Kevin, 42, admitted: ‘I think when we first got together, it feels like such a long time ago [that we first met], three four months ago when we first met and everything happened very quickly.
‘It absolutely did, but I certainly knew, anyway, straight away so that was it, yeah. ‘
When Lorraine suggested that Kevin would have thought signing up for the show was the best thing he ever did, the footballer admitted that he wasn’t sure about taking part in the competition at first.
He explained: ‘Well, I didn’t think that beforehand and I still had huge reservations even when I had signed up for the show but obviously then Brianne and I got together and everything’s been great, everything has gone really well.
‘I could have actually quit before the show even started! I think that’s how it went for me, but it’s gone great and I’m absolutely delighted.’
Brianne admitted neither of them were looking for love, explaining ‘it happens’, as they were both single when they were partnered together.
She added: ‘I’m used to being a tough coach, but it’s a bit hard with Kevin because obviously there’s feelings involved, I adore him, so it’s hard. Even if I do try to be tough, he just laughs at me.’
The professional skater admitted that their off-screen relationship does help on the ice, explaining: ‘There’s a natural connection, it’s not put on, it’s real and we enjoy each other.’
The couple admitted they are not sure what they are going to do after the show, with Kevin living in the UK and Brianne being from Canada, however they said they would make it work and ‘it won’t be long distance’.
The couple were overwhelmed with the support they received from Dancing On Ice fans after they revealed their romance, and admitted they had decided to go public after worrying the news would leak as so many of the cast and crew on the show knew they were together.
Dancing On Ice returns on Sunday from 6pm on ITV.
