Ronda Rousey ready to return to WWE after branding it 'scripted'

by

Wrestling fans, strap yourselves in, because Ronda Rousey is ready to return to WWE.

The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion hasn’t been seen by WWE fans since breaking her hand and losing to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35 last April.

But it seems she’s ready to get in the ring as she joked about ‘crashing’ house shows on WWE’s After The Bell podcast.

Asked when she will come back, Ronda quipped: ‘Probably whenever the hell I feel like it.

‘If they would just let me show up at live events, probably very soon.’

The 32-year-old announced in November that she was stepping away from the company – which she’s signed to until April 2021 – to focus on starting a family with Travis Browne.

Since then however, the former MMA fighter revealed she’s ‘not trying to rush’ having a baby.

Ronda’s clearly got a touch of the wrestling nostalgia, as she talked about what she misses in the WWE world.

‘I wish I could just show up randomly at live shows, I wish that would make sense I know it doesn’t really but that’s what I miss the most,’ she said.

‘I love the camaraderie and the laid back feeling of live show days.’

While she hasn’t set a return date, she does fancy sparring with NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley.

‘Rhea Ripley, she is doing amazing,’ Ronda said.

‘I would love to have a match with her some day. She matches up with everybody so differently and there are so many things that she could really pull out of people that they can’t do with anybody else.’

Ronda teasing fans with her return to the WWE Universe comes after she branded all wrestling ‘scripted’ and ‘made up’.

Speaking on her Ronda On The Road YouTube series last March, Rousey said: ‘I’m tired of just being here to entertain people, and not taking any more directions or notes or orders.

‘Every time I go out there, I’m going to do whatever the hell I want to do, and they’re just going to have to keep filming and cashing the cheques I bring in.’

She added: ‘Wrestling is scripted. It’s made up. It’s not real.’
