Lil Nas X delivers perfect response to Pastor Troy's homophobic rant
by Emma KellyLil Nas X was the best dressed at the Grammy Awards, thanks to his hot pink Versace cowboy suit.
And he isn’t about to let any homophobic trolls take him down.
The Old Town Road star smacked down rapper Pastor Troy after he made homophobic remarks about his Grammys outfit, by simply reminding everyone how good he looked.
Pastor Troy, who is a member of hardcore rap crew D.S.G.B., posted hateful remarks about Lil Nas X in a now deleted Instagram post, in which he claimed gay men have an ‘agenda’ to take away masculinity.
Alongside a picture of Lil Nas X at the Grammys, the 42-year-old wrote: ‘Welp, Guess I won’t be winning a GRAMMY… If this what I gotta wear. They love to push this s*** on Our Kids!! The other day @applebees had some punks kissing and laughing eating mozzarella sticks. First thing my 14 yr old Son said was “F*** Applebee’s” and it brought joy to my heart!! He sees it… their agenda to take the masculinity away from Men, Black Men especially.
‘Some may say, He Making Money!! Rupaul do too, but I ain’t bumping his CD!!! Integrity is priceless. Y’all Better open that 3rd Eye and let your Sons Know What Is Real… Or They Ass Gone Be Headed Down That Old Town Road Foreal!! [sic].’
In a comment seen by Comments By Celebs, Lil Nas X wrote: ‘This is so sad. Stream Rodeo’, while Britney Spear’ sister Jamie Lynn commented: ‘Wish I could pull this look off, honestly. *stream rodeo.’
Meanwhile, over on Twitter, the 20-year-old rapper – who came out publicly as gay on Twitter – retweeted a grab of Pastor Troy’s post and wrote: ‘damn i look good in that pic on god.’
The two time Grammy Award winner then replied to a follower who wrote: ‘Yo! Wish you alot of success and happiness, but young black man your out here making yourself look crazy. There is nothing wrong with you being gay it’s cool, just chill with these crazy ass outfits, your hurting yourself not helping yourself. Respect yourself bro.’
Lil Nas X, real name Montero Lamar Hill, responded: ‘thank u but the way i dress isn’t for everyone. some people like it, some people don’t. i have the upmost respect for myself. i wouldn’t do anything i wasn’t comfortable with.’
At the Grammys, the Panini rapper stole the red carpet spotlight in his cropped jacket, mesh shirt and cowboy boots, all featuring the gold Versace hardware.
He rocked the designer house’s harness beneath his jacket, and of course wore a Stetson for the occasion.
During the ceremony, Lil Nas X provided one of the most memorable performances of the night as he welcomed us into the Old Town Road multiverse with features from BTS, Billy Ray Cyrus, Mason Ramsey, Young Thug and Nas.
