Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sceptical Man Utd will complete deadline day transfer for Josh King

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not expect Manchester United to seal a deadline day move for Bournemouth striker Josh King.

United have had a bid turned down for former United striker King, who played under Solskajer for the club's reserves.

Although United made an enquiry about signing King, Solskjaer said today he does not think they will be able to get a deal done by the 11pm deadline – although he did leave the door open.

“I'm not sure, I don’t expect any more business to be done,” said Solskajer. "I don’t think anything is going to happen.

“Sometimes I say something here and something else happens, sometimes I say I'm happy with a player and he gets a different message, so I don't want to help or make speculations grow more and more today.

“I expect nothing to happen, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen.”

With Marcus Rashford out for up to three months, United are desperate for a short-term solution up front, with King – currently injured – seen as the player to fill that void.

Solskjaer confirmed new signing Bruno Fernandes will make his United debut against Wolves at the weekend.

“He's fit to play and he will be involved,” said Solskajer.” Definitely he will be in the squad, once he gets the training out of the way today.

“He's had a few hectic days now, his little daughter was three-years-old yesterday, so I don't know how much he will be involved, but he will be in the squad.”
