Bruno Fernandes to make Man Utd debut against Wolves after completing transfer

Bruno Fernandes will make his Manchester United debut against Wolves tomorrow, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.

Fernandes, who joined United from Sporting Lisbon in a deal worth up to £67.8million, will train with his new-team-mates today ahead of tomorrow's clash at Old Trafford.

“He's fit to play and he will be involved,” said Solskajer.”Definitely he will be in the squad, once he gets the training out of the way today.

“He's had a few hectic days now, his little daughter was three-years-old yesterday, so I don't know how much he will be involved, but he will be in the squad.”

United looked at signing attacking midfielder Fernandes last summer but Solskajer said the timing made sense to do the deal now.

“Its about timings, priorities, and also valuation, money, and you have a club that owns him,” said Solskjaer.

“You can see how much he meant to them and they wanted to keep him. We're just happy to finally get it over the line.

“We followed him for years and he's grown in that period, he's more mature, more assured performances, a great leader of his team and, even with all the speculation that has been around him, with every club in Europe linked with him, he stayed focused and played some fantastic football for Sporting Lisbon.

“It tells us how professional he is and when you get to meet him and see him, he's a fantastic human being.”

Solskjaer hailed the leadership qualities of Fernandes and said: “That's one of the boxes we had to tick, because we want players who this means a lot to and he's a winner, he hates losing.

“I have seen him myself, but he uses that anger in a good way, to play better and help his team-mates.

“He was a fantastic captain for Sporting Lisbon and he is going to come here and be a great leader.”
