'Thalaivi' director Vijay's father AL Azhagappan blames THIS actor for Vijay's divorce with Amala Paul

Director Vijay made his directorial debut with the Tamil film 'Kireedam' starring Ajith in the lead role. The director then continued to direct many films in Tamil including 'Madrasapattinam', 'Deiva Thirumagal', 'Thalaiva', 'Saivam', 'Devi', and others. Director Vijay was married to actress Amala Paul in the year 2014, and later they got divorced in 2017. Now, Vijay's father AL Azhagappan is blaming Dhanush as the reason for Vijay's divorce with Amala Paul in a recent interview.

AL Azhagappan said that Amala Paul had decided not to act in films after her marriage, but Dhanush was the one who made her sign his productional venture 'Amma Kanakku'. It was then that actress Amala Paul started acting again in films, and this was the reason behind Vijay and Amala Paul’s divorce. AL Azhagappan’s accusation on the leading actor Dhanush has caused a stir in the industry.

Meanwhile, Vijay married Aishwarya who is a doctor by profession in July 2019 and the director is currently working on the film 'Thalaivi', a biopic on the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha. The film stars Kangana Ranaut and Aravind Swamy in lead roles.
