Migros verkauft das Glattzentrum
by SDA/akaDie Migros will auch das bekannte Glattzentrum in Wallisellen zu Geld machen. Sie sucht ab sofort neue Eigentümer für das umsatzstärkste Einkaufszentrum der Schweiz.
Wie der Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund (MGB) am Freitag mitteilte, erfolgt der Verkauf des Glattzentrums im Rahmen der strategischen Neuausrichtung der Migros. Diese will sich künftig vermehrt um ihr Kerngeschäft und digitale Geschäftsmodelle kümmern. Immobilien seien hingegen kein strategisches Geschäftsfeld der Migros mehr, hiess es im Communiqué.
Gleichzeitig teilte die Migros mit, dass von diesem Entscheid derzeit keine weiteren Einkaufszentren der Migros-Gruppe betroffen seien.

Im Zusammenhang mit der Neuausrichtung verkauft die Migros auch die Warenhausgruppe Globus, das Möbelhaus Interio, den deutschen Einrichtungs- und Dekorationsspezialisten Gries Deco mit der Marke Depot sowie die E-Bike-Tochter M-Way.
Die Migros gehörte seit den Anfängen zu den Mitbesitzern des Glattzentrums, bevor sie es später vollständig übernahm. Der Shoppingtempel vor den Toren Zürichs wurde 1975 eröffnet. Seither wurde es mehrmals umgebaut und modernisiert. Mit einer Verkaufsfläche von 53'000 Quadratmetern erzielte es 2019 einen Umsatz von etwas mehr als 600 Millionen Franken.

Obwohl die Migros das Gebäude verkauft, will sie weiterhin mit ihren Läden im Glattzentrum präsent bleiben. Die Migros bekenne sich klar zum attraktiven Standort im Einkaufszentrum Glatt und habe für ihre eigenen Verkaufsflächen langfristige Mietverträge abgeschlossen. Auch auf die Mitarbeitenden habe der Verkauf keine Auswirkungen, schrieb die Migros.
