MME to monitor deep-sea marine environment

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment’s department of monitoring and environmental lab will monitor the marine environment at deep sea in cooperation with Qatar University’s research vessel Janan. The trip will take place in February.

Director of the department, Hassan Al Qassmi, said that it was part of a project to prepare a comprehensive plan on marine life in the country.

He added a lot of work had been done to coordinate with Qatar University and its research.

The Ministry’s Ali Al Kuwari said that the annual trip focuses on the country’s economic zone and lasts for several days.

H E the Speaker discussed corruption and said that the State of Qatar held the conference of the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption, and called on non-members to join the organization in order to better fight corruption.

The 10-day event is being organised by the Private Engineering Office (PEO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and with the participation of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
