
'Significant munitions find' onboard vessel in River Lagan
by Digital StaffAn alert which closed two bridges over the River Lagan began after a "significant munitions find", police have said.
The Queen Elizabeth Bridge in Belfast and the nearby Lagan Weir footbridge were closed last night following the discovery of suspicious objects onboard a vessel.
Both bridges were closed at around 11pm and the objects were removed for forensic examination.

Both bridges have now reopened.
