NBI Information Chief Nicanor Suarez gave the advisory following the confirmation from the Department of Health (DOH) of the first nCoV case in the country.

“With this development, we are advising all our personnel to take all the precautionary measures and to be extra careful so as to avoid nCoV,” he said on Friday.

The DOH said the first case recorded involves a 38-year-old Chinese woman who hails from Wuhan City in China.

The DOH said that based on test results, she was confirmed to have nCoV.

The woman has been hospitalized since January 25 after arriving in the country last January 21.

The DOH had initially placed under strict monitoring and investigation 27 foreign nationals for nCoV.

But four of them, including a man who was later diagnosed to be infected with HIV and later died of pneumonia, were later cleared of 2019-nCoV.

The DOH said the remaining 23 foreigners will continue to be monitored until they are completely cleared.
