Saif Ali Khan's latest outing 'Jawaani Jaaneman' has hit the theatres and is receiving mixed responses at the box office. The Nawab of Bollywood is seen playing the role of a father. Pooja Bedi's daughter Alaya Furniturewala, who is making her debut, is essaying the role of his daughter in the film. Earlier there were also speculations Saif's real-life daughter Sara Ali Khan was approached to play the role. However, later it was reported that the actor asked his daughter not to be a part of the 'Jawaani Jaaneman'.

Recently, in an exclusive interview with ETimes, when Saif was asked about Sara not being a part of the film, he said, "Well, I mean, generally speaking, my whole family's in movies, you know my mother's in movies, my sister, my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, wife and daughter. So I would tend not to cast any of them as those real-life roles. Generally, I think the film is about something else. And I mean, the only time I would want to cast Sara or give her something would be if she needed my help. But generally speaking, her trajectory and her path should be different. She should be working with the people she's working with right now. And we should not confuse issues."

Reportedly, the movie was offered to Sara but Saif asked her not to do it. He mentioned in an interview that her debut film, ‘Kedarnath’ had almost been shelved and Sara didn't have another movie. So as her father, he had offered her the film which she gladly accepted.

Furthermore, on being questioned whether he would like to share the screen space with Sara, Saif added, "Depends on the role. In fact, we've been offered a few many things because I line of work is quite an opportunist also. Yes. People have asked us and we've been offered about five films together, which have not been done for one reason or another. The film needs to be appealing to both of us. Yeah. So when we do it, it should be something that both of us are excited about."

Meanwhile, Saif reunited with her former co-star Tabu in ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ after a long time. The film had hit the theatres today i.e. January 31, 2020.
