Singleton claims she REFUSES to date shorter men because they don't make her feel 'like a woman' - but GMB viewers argue 'personality' is all that matters

Two guests debated whether height is a factor when it comes to dating and finding a life partner on Good Morning Britain.

Joining presenters Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway to discuss the topic was Zeze Millz, who said she will only date tall guys, and model Ashley James, who argued dating a man with personality is more important than height.

The heated discussion came off the back of a comment made by radio presenter and actor Jameela Jamil, who claimed women should give shorter men more of a chance - and added she'd like to see less stereotypes on screen.

And viewers were quick to take to Twitter to offer their opinion on the matter - but many appeared to be divided.

'Would you date a short man?" Nope, because small-man syndrome is a real thing and most of them have attention seeking issues,' wrote one, while a second commented: 'I've yet to meet a woman whose ideal Man isn't 6ft plus. Solid prerequisite in my opinion but being short ain't a game killer by any means.'

Zeze Millz (pictured) disagreed and told how she will only date tall guys as they make her feel 'protected' and 'like a woman'

Taking to Twitter, one argued: 'Short man next to a tall woman looks weird, they look like their mum' (pictured)

A third argued: 'So if I date a short man does that mean I'm stronger, more powerful than my man - naah I don't think so. We're equal so why should we judge taller woman dating short man. The main thing is they love each other..and who are we judge?'

Love Island's Laura Whitmore had previously waded into the debate, appealing to female contestants to give one of the shorter men, Nas, a shot at love.

But despite many disagreeing with her views, Zeze maintained that being a pint-sized man means shorter odds on getting a date.

'It wouldn't work for me,' she explained. 'There's just something about the height difference of a taller man and how it makes you feel protected.'

'It makes me feel like a woman. When you walk down the road with a taller man, other men respect them more than the shorter man - that's the reality of it.'

However, 5ft 7in Ashley questioned why women need to feel protected from a man in today's society.

The internet was left divided following the debate, with some arguing that the most important aspect of a relationship is that the couple love each other (pictured)

'I definitely think it goes back to traditional ideas of what feminine is and what masculine is,' she explained.

'And also we see it in culture like Jameela Jamil said. I don't think we've seen at all in rom coms or romantic movies a taller woman with a short guy.'

'I think it comes down to a lot of unrealistic beauty expectations - as a woman you don't want to feel bigger in any sense of the word.'

'But as we learn to break down unrealistic beauty standards for women, we should be doing that for men. If you're shorter, what can you do about it? You can't just grow taller.

And many took to social media in agreement with the former reality star's point of view.

'#GMB and guests finding a new way to create social anxiety today,' commented one, while a second penned: 'I don’t see what’s wrong with a short guy and anyway what does it matter as long as he’s a nice guy and has a great personality.'

Zeze went on to explain how the average height of women in the UK is 5'3, while the average height for a man is 5'9.

Some argued that they'd never date a short guy because 'small man syndrome is a real thing' (pictured)

And when asked if she'd ever met a guy that bowled her over with his confidence that perhaps wasn't as tall as the standard guy she was looking for, she replied:

'It has happened, but it's always better on a 6 ft 1 guy. You can have all these good attributes like really nice, caring - but imagine that on a taller guy.'

'I want to be able to wear heels and look up. It is a little bit fairy tale but I compromise on so many things so height, I just can't.'

Taking to social media in agreement with Zeze, one commented: 'Short man next to a tall woman looks weird, they look like their mum, ' while another wrote: 'Certain aspects of intimacy may become a problem if one's legs are too long and the other's too short.'

A third added: 'Short men.. Most I've dated were extremely manipulative, short tempered and controlling. Not attractive attributes. Taller were more chilled. Maybe less threatened by other men? Who people date is up to them..Physical attraction has no rules.'
