Manchester United squad numbers available on transfer deadline day

The January transfer window is finally coming to a close and here's a look at the squad numbers any last minute signings could take.

Manchester United have already confirmed the signing of Bruno Fernandes but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted there could be some last minute transfer activity on deadline day.

The United boss hasn't ruled out a late loan move for a striker with Marcus Rashford sidelined with a back injury but the club will have to move quickly because the window closes at 11pm on Friday.

"I'm not sure," Solskjaer said of a possible loan deal after the Manchester City game. "We need more goals. I know if we get Bruno over the line we've got a boy there who'll score and create. So let's talk on Friday."

Fernandes' number has already been confirmed by his agent as number 18 so the list of numbers below are all options for any new signings United get over the line in the final few hours of the transfer window.

7 - The most iconic shirt number in the club. Worn by Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo. More recent owners of the number seven shirt haven't had quite the same success.

11 - Anthony Martial's old number but it most famously belonged to Ryan Giggs.

34 - A shirt shared between goalkeepers. Sam Johnstone, Dean Henderson, and Anders Lindegaard have all worn it.

35 - Jesse Lingard and Tom Cleverley's old number.

36 - Another number worn by Matteo Darmian.

42 - Paul Pogba's number he wore back during his first stint at Unitd.

43 - Hasn't been worn since Cameron Borthwick-Jackson back in 17/18.

45 - Kieran O'Hara last had this number in 16/17.
