Bruno Fernandes makes promise to Man Utd fans as he prepares to make debut

Portugal international Bruno Fernandes put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half year deal after the Red Devils and could make his Manchester United debut this weekend

Bruno Fernandes has promised the Manchester United fans he will give everything for the badge after signing from Sporting Lisbon.

The Portugal international put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half year deal after the Red Devils shelled out £46.6m up front, plus up to £21.2m in add-ons, to secure his signature.

Fernandes could make his debut as soon as this weekend when Manchester United play host to Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.

The 25-year-old has been a key part of Sporting Lisbon's team this season, and the Portuguese is both match-fit and ready to hit the ground running for United.

Ahead of his debut, Fernandes made a vow to the fans that he'll play for the badge.

"My love of Manchester United really started when I used to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play and ever since then I have been a big fan of this great club," said Fernandes.

"For me to now play for Manchester United feels incredible, I have worked hard to get to this moment and I can promise the fans that I will give everything for the badge to help bring us more success and trophies.

"I want to thank Sporting for everything they have done for me.

"It is surreal to hear the nice words that have been said about me from players that used to play for this team.

"A massive thank you to Ole and everyone at Manchester United for the trust they have shown in me and I can't wait to start to repay that on the pitch.
