Schoolboy hit by car in Oldbury

A schoolboy has been hit by a car in Oldbury.

Police said the 11-year-old boy is "very fortunate" after the crash in Pound Road just after 3pm today.

Force Response tweeted saying: "#CTeamSandwell have been dealing with a road traffic collision between a car and a schoolboy on Pound Road, Oldbury.

"The boy has been very fortunate. A reminder to all pedestrians to follow the green cross code."

No arrests have been made, police said.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Police attended reports of an 11-year-old boy being hit by a car in Pound Road, Oldbury, shortly after 3pm today. There have been no arrests.

"The boy did not suffer life-threatening or life-changing injuries."
