From fun-filled family activities to short breaks away to escape daily stresses, there is lots happening in Bristol and the surrounding areas this Christmas.

So, if you’ve still got a few dates free and are looking for festive events to enjoy with your nearest and dearest, take a look at the list below.

1. The Crealy Christmas Spectacular

The Crealy Christmas Spectacular is back and set to be better than ever, with an all-new Christmas on Ice Show: The Snow Globe Adventure.

Featuring Santa’s Magical Showtime and Santa’s Toy Factory, every child will get to choose their own present to take home from thousands of wonderful hand-picked toys and gifts.

This all-day family experience also includes entry to other special magical attractions, including the new and improved Mary’s Christmas Bakery, Rudy’s Reindeer Feeding Station, Santa’s Post Office and the Decoration Station.

You can also enjoy rides across the theme park and over 75,000 square feet of indoor play areas.

2. Clarkson’s Remembrance Carol Service

This year, Clarkson’s annual Remembrance Carol Service will be held at St Luke's Church, Hatfield Road, BA2 2BD on Sunday, December 8, 2019.

The service will be at 3pm and led by the lovely Reverend Matthew Frankum. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Invitations will be sent out over the next week, with tree tags enclosed. Anybody who does not receive a direct invitation but would like to do so in future, or cannot make it, contact any of the branches.

Refreshments will be served in the church after the service as usual.

Clarkson’s is also supporting the wonderful charity TIP, Time is Precious, which does amazing things for local children and families.

3. St Mary Redcliffe Church

One of Bristol’s finest buildings, St Mary Redcliffe Church is a treasure of international importance and a masterpiece of Gothic architecture - recognised as being one of the finest churches in the country. What better place to celebrate Christmas!

If you fancy soaking up the special festive atmosphere, join the church for a traditional season of festive events, family friendly celebrations and candlelit services.

St Mary Redcliffe has events running all through December and is open each day from 8am to 5pm.

4. West Somerset Railway

Bring the children to the West Somerset Railway where they can travel by train from the seaside town of Minehead to Blue Anchor to see Santa in his grotto. All children will be able to meet and greet the man himself, and receive a special gift.

Adults will be treated to a mince pie and alcoholic festive drink, with a non-alcoholic alternative also available, whilst you soak up the festive atmosphere. All trains have an on-train buffet car.

Santa Specials depart from Minehead only. Please note that no dogs are allowed on these services.

5. Wells Cathedral

This Christmas, Wells Cathedral has multiple events taking place within its beautiful, historic walls.

Enjoy the Cathedral Candlelight Concerts on December 19, 20 and 21, at 7pm - booking is required in advance.

The cathedral’s Carol Services will take place at 6pm on December 22 and 23, with Family Crib Services on December 24, at 2pm and 3.15pm. The Eucharist of Christmas Night event will also take place on Christmas Eve at 11pm to the early hours of Christmas Day morning, 12.30am.

The cathedral will also have Christmas Day services on December 25, for all to attend.

6. Harry Potter Studio Tour, Berrys Coaches
