A Plymouth man has denied attacking a woman and her two-year-old daughter by throwing bleach at them.

The 33-year-old appeared at Plymouth Crown Court accused of attacking the mum and toddler intending to seriously injure them.

He pleaded not guilty to two charges of throwing a corrosive fluid with intent to burn, maim, disfigure or disable the pair on March 24.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also denied assaulting the mother causing actual bodily harm.

He also pleaded not guilty to making a threat to kill the woman.

Judge Paul Darlow set down a three-day trial to start on May 18 next year.

The man was released on bail on condition he does not contact the mother nor go to an address in Plymouth.
