As Tihar hunts for hangman, Tamil Nadu cop applies for executioner’s job to ensure justice for Nirbhaya

by Akshaya NathA head constable from Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu has written a letter to the Director-General of Police, Tihar jail stating his willingness to serve as an executioner in the Delhi jail.
Recently, S Subash Srinivasan, who is a head constable in the in-service training centre in Ramanathapuram.
After reading about a lack of executioner in Tihar jail to hang the Nirbaya case convicts, S Subash Srinivasan volunteered to take up the role.
In his letter, the police official wrote that there is no need to pay him. "The work you give will be effective. So, I humbly ask you to let me work there," read his letter.
This is not the first time that Subash Srinivasan has been in the news. He had made news when he was involved in removing nails from trees which were put up by advertisement agencies. He was also in news for supplying water for the needy and also cremating unclaimed bodies.
