Revealed: The most popular tourist attractions for Uber passengers in 2019 - and it's the Empire State Building that tops the list, with Buckingham Palace 9th

The 15 most popular tourist attractions around the world for Uber drop-offs have been revealed - and it's the Empire State Building that tops the list.

The cab-hailing app has been keeping track of the most-visited landmarks and attractions by its drivers in 2019.

In second place is the Freedom Tower, also in New York, while Toronto's CN Tower comes third.

Locations in Paris also dominate the top 10 with the Arc de Triomphe in fourth, the Eiffel Tower in fifth and The Louvre taking sixth place.

In seventh is the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, which stands at 2,722ft high in Dubai.

Disneyland in California takes eighth spot on the list while ninth is London's Buckingham Palace and 10th is the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

The rest of the top 15 is made up of the Sydney Opera House (11th), the Berlin Wall (12th), Istanbul's Blue Mosque (13th), the Vatican (14th) and the Great Pyramid of Giza (15th).

Meanwhile, Uber also revealed the countries where tourists from the US took the most trips using the app in 2019.

Mexico topped the list followed by Canada (second), the UK (third), Brazil (fourth) and France (fifth).

The rest of the top 10 is made up of India (sixth), Australia (seventh), Colombia (eighth), Portugal (ninth) and Spain (10th).

In addition, Uber also said that tourists were ordering their favourite foods to landmark locations around the world using Uber Eats.

The firm explained that thousands of orders were delivered to the Eiffel Tower, the Golden Gate Park, Parliament House in Australia, and the CN Tower.

Meanwhile, it also revealed that the Saturday of St Patrick’s Day weekend was the most popular day to use Uber in the U.S for the second year in a row.
