An Instagram photoshoot of a Hindu-Muslim same-sex couple, hailing from India and Pakistan, had gone viral on social media and users are going gaga over the pictures.
The pictures showed Anjali Chakra from India and Sundas Malik from Pakistan laughing and kissing under a rain-splattered umbrella in traditional outfits.
The same-sex couple then shared a video of the two dancing on video-sharing app TikTok.
Anjalidiscovered this weekend that the only way to do Vegas is with 15 girls & fettuccine alfredo at every meal đ
Now the couple is creating headlines as TikTok has pulled down the video as per its community guidelines.
AnjaliWE MADE IT TO A FILM FESTIVAL BABY!!! a few months ago I executive produced a music video for this queen, and two days ago we walked the red carpet at a film festival in LA where it was nominated for best music video. I donât even have the words to express how grateful I am to PallavĂ for taking a chance on me when I didnât have experience, and our badass team for making this a reality âĽď¸ I seriously cant believe this is my life right now đ @revolve
As per a report, the video-sharing site restricts posts by users it identifies as disabled, fat or LGBTQ+.
Chakra posted the same video on micro-blogging site Twitter on December 2 after learning that TikTok had pulled her video down.
She retweeted the video and wrote, âTikTok deleted this for âviolating community guidelinesâ so the rumours about homophobia are true.â
â@tiktok_us you wanna explain why this got taken down,â she added.
In the video, the couple can be seen dancing, first wearing casual outfits and then sporting traditional clothes.
Anjaliwe went to two weddings in two cities in three days & a summer storm wasnât about to be the thing that stopped us đ§ @borrowthebazaar made picking our outfits the easiest part. Renting is cheaper and more sustainable than buying new for each event, and we love supporting WOC owned businesses! The shared post triggered an outpouring of support for the couple on social media. Many users supported the couple and asked them to keep posting.
