Ga West Assembly assesses damages of windstorm

Amasaman (G/A), Dec. 9, GNA - The Ga West Municipal Assembly is working around the clock to complete the assessment of damages of a recent windstorm that hit the area.

Mr Randolph Ashietey, the Director of the Ga West National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.

He said on November 28 around 1500 hours a devastating windstorm stroke the municipality and rendered many families homeless and property worth thousands of Ghana cedis destroyed.

Mr Ashietey said the Municipal Chief Executive, Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkson later led a team from the regional offices of the NADMO and the Ga West Assembly to inspect some affected communities such as Pobiman, Sarpeiman, and Trebakope.
