KUALA LUMPUR: Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri refused comment on speculations that he had been asked to take leave from carrying out his duties as chief executive officer of the National Film Development Corporation (Finas).

The 45-year-old actor said that he had not received any directive on the matter.

“Until an official announcement is made on this, I cannot comment further,” he said in a recent news report.

“Let Finas or the (Communications and Multimedia) minister issues a statement first,” he said.

Earlier, talk was rife that Ahmad Idham had been advised to take a three-month leave.

He said that he was prepared to willingly accept any decision made, adding that when he first assumed the position, it had always been his intention to assist the entertainment industry.

“I didn’t apply for this job, it was offered to me. Therefore, I accept whatever decision made.

“At the moment, I’m still carrying out my duties as the CEO and all matters pertaining to Finas are still under my purview,” he said.

Ahmad Idham was appointed CEO of Finas on March 14 for a two-year term.
