R-Kal Truluck, whose professional football career included three years with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, died Nov. 29 at age 45.

He had been suffering from ALS, previously widely-known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Truluck, a defensive end, had three sacks in his CFL debut — the Roughriders’ 19-10 victory over the visiting Toronto Argonauts on July 3, 1998.

Over three seasons with Saskatchewan, he played in 38 games, registering 101 defensive tackles and 11 sacks.

He subsequently spent four seasons in the NFL, with the Kansas City Chiefs (2002 and 2003), Green Bay Packers (2004) and Arizona Cardinals (2005). In 41 regular-season games, he had eight sacks and 28 defensive tackles.

Truluck returned to the CFL in 2006, his first of two seasons with the Montreal Alouettes.

Born in Brooklyn, Truluck played college football at SUNY-Cortland. Post-football, he had operated R-Kal Truluck Realty in Orlando, Fla.
