In October, during the India vs South Africa series, she became India’s first cricketer, among both men and women, to play 100 T20 Internationals.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rohit Sharma appear second after her in this list with 98 T20 Internationals under their belt.

Inspiration
While she is an inspiration to many girls across India and even worldwide, Harmanpreet, herself, found her cricketing inspiration from the former smashing Indian opener Virender Sehwag.
Sports in the genes
One can say that love for sports is rooted in Harmanpreet’s genes. Her father Harmandar Singh Bhullar was quite the champ in this section as well. He was a volleyball and basketball player himself.
Recommended by God himself
Harmanpreet has been working with the Indian Railways from the time she moved to Mumbai in 2014. This job fell in her lap with the help of a personal letter from the God of Cricket himself, Mr. Sachin Tendulkar.

Highest score in a knockout
Harmanpreet scored 171 in the World Cup match against Australia in 2017. This is the second highest score by an Indian woman in a World Cup knockout.
League player
She is the first Indian cricketer to be signed by BBL franchise, where she played for Sydney Thunder. Harmanpreet has also been signed by by Surrey Stars in ECB’s Kia Super League.
Gray Nicolls
Nike withdrew its sponsorship of Indian cricketers in 2016, This is when Gray Nicolls entered Indian market. While many members of the men’s Indian cricket team got the coveted Gray Nicolls sticker on their bats, Kaur was the only member of Indian women’s team to get this deal.
Early struggles
Harmanpreet Kaur always had an interest in cricket. She joined the Gian Jyoti School Academy which was 30 kilometers away from her residence in Moga where she trained under Kamaldeesh Singh Sodhi. Through her hard work and dedication she got selected in the Moga district team where she played her first big cricket tournament with the Punjab’s Inter-District tournament. From then on, she represented the Punjab Ranji team as well and since then as they say, there has been no looking back for this woman.
