Dubai airline Emirates to serve 500,000 Christmas meals
Enjoy festive turkey dinners and Christmas movie classics in the air this December
by Darragh MurphyTravelling abroad for the holiday season and missing out on a Dubai Christmas? Not to worry, as Emirates will be celebrating festivities in the sky.
The Dubai airline will be serving up more than 500,000 Christmas meals on select routes from today (Monday December 9) to Tuesday December 31, along with a selection of the best Christmas classics to watch throughout flights.
Emirates’ signature festive menu will feature turkey with mashed potato, green peas, baby carrots and cranberry jus lié prepared by the airline’s chefs.
As for its festive dessert, passengers can expect milk chocolate mousse topped with a Christmas chocolate button.
Flying in business or first class? Expect roasted turkey and apricot stuffing, roast potatoes with Brussels sprouts and turkey bacon, along with cranberry jus lié. To finish, expect a Santa-inspired Christmas chocolate cake or a chocolate gingerbread cake.
Little ones will get a specially-prepared turkey dinner with a chocolate snowman cookie, along with a chance to get a limited-edition Emirates Fly with Me Animal toy – Lumi The Snowman.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a classic movie to watch, and passengers can expect The Polar Express, Elf, Home Alone, Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer, It's a Wonderful Life and many more.
The special Christmas service will be available across routes from Dubai to Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, South Africa and the Philippines.
That’s not all to look forward to, as Dubai Duty Free’s huge annual December anniversary sale will be in full swing this December, with 25 percent off a range of products.
