Joel Schumacher's Dark Knight Rises as a (Nipple-less) Batman & Robin Pop!

by

Funko unveiled another new addition to its Pop! Heroes line: the 1997 Batman from Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin. However, the famous bat-nipples from that film are not included with this model.

The 3.75-inch Funko Pop! will be the latest Batman model designed to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the character, who first appeared in 1939's Detective Comics #27. "'Hello Freeze, I’m Batman,' Funko's description reads. "Celebrate 80 years of DC’s Dark Knight with a Pop! Batman from the 1997 action film Batman & Robin. With a dramatic navy blue and silver Batsuit, Batman’s ready to take on Mr. Freeze or any other Super Villains that threaten his beloved Gotham City."

This version of Batman was played by George Clooney in 1997's Batman & Robin, the last film in the '80s/'90s series of films director Tim Burton launched in 1989. He joins a roster of comic book, cinematic and TV Batmen, including the 1964 Adam West version who appeared in the Batman TV series, the 1989 Michael Keaton version from Tim Burton's Batman film, the 1995 Val Kilmer version who appeared in Batman Forever and the original 1939 version drawn by Bob Kane and Bill Finger from the aforementioned in Detective Comics #27.

The Batman 1997 figure arrives in January 2020.
